I managed the company’s network administration and
migration including development of new internal IT and support procedures. In
review of the company’s policies and procedures, I developed and
standardized internal document management to include imaging and conversion of
all inbound documents to a standardized format, library development,
electronic document retrieval, viewing and electronic communications of the
documents. I also performed tasks as a software developer for an in house
application. This resulted in staff resource reduction, material expense
reduction, and increased collection performance. I also evaluated and
implemented website design and criteria changes that resulted in new business
being derived from the web where none was present prior to these changes.

1996-1997. $100,000,000 general contractor who utilized my services until the
company became so large that they hired an inside IT person (one of my
employees) and I continued to provide services and sub-contract services on a
continual basis until Feb. 2007. Many of the following references were the
direct result of working with this company.

Consultant / Project Manager - American Heritage Billiards 2005-2007,
630 Mondial Parkway, Streetsboro, Ohio http://www.ahbilliards.com
Lead project coordinator to migrate Syspro accounting
software to Great Plains software integrating with Radio Beacon WMS using Blue
Moon middleware. This project was unique in that American Heritage is a pool
table distribution company that does limited manufacturing using a “kitting”
process.
The challenge was to complete the migration while resolving
inherent problems related to the kitting process with Syspro and Radio Beacon
with minimum down time. Using programmers from Radio Beacon, resources from
CBIZ Technologies for the Great Plains component, resources from Blue Moon for
the middleware, we were able to complete a transition to the new platform with
no interruption in the distribution process.
My role in the process began with the infrastructure design
and installation in their first new building. This led to the inception and
installation of new technologies such as Exchange Server, Active Directory,
Terminal Server, Spamgate appliances, broadband services and Http over proxy
for laptop email synchronization in addition to firewall, antivirus, backup
and security practices.
I was then asked to help resolve the software integration
issues. After research, I presented the company with 3 capable accounting
software vendors from which the choice was Great Plains. Because of my
hardware, infrastructure and programming experience, I was able to determine
and isolate the problem areas during the implementation process and direct
focus to the appropriate vendors to resolve all of the integration issues.
During that same year, the company doubled the size of
their operation moving to a new facility which I again designed and installed
their infrastructure and resolved all of their warehouse wireless issues
(installed by Raymond) while using WAN technology to keep their product
inventory current as they moved. l made sure that all procedures were
documented and the appropriate personnel were trained so the company could
maintain themselves without a full time IT employee.
